University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) was founded in 1976 with a mission of educating economists for the southern provinces of Vietnam. After 20 years of operation, in 1996, it merged University of Finance and Accountancy of Ho Chi Minh City and Faculty of Economics of Ho Chi Minh City University into its system and made it a bigger university as it is seen today. During that process, the new university transformed itself into a multidisciplinary higher educational institution. The university has 14 schools covering economics, management, international business-marketing, public finance, finance, banking, accountancy, mathematics-statistics, business information system, political sciences, law, public governance, economic foreign language, and tourism.

School of Tourism prides itself on the quality of its educational program, the professionalism of its staff, the efficiency of its business network and the enthusiasm of its students. The school is a new educational entity in University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH).

Started on 9 July 2015, School of Tourism (SoT) was developed from the tourism division of School of Commerce-Tourism-Marketing, UEH and built into an institutional school where higher education and applied research are its two main focuses. Currently, SoT offers specializations in travel and hospitality management with four different majors in travel operation, cruise management, hotel management and event management. The school continues to expand its educational scope into restaurant management and leisure management. The programs of the school cover not only residential bachelor degree but also non-residual ones and certificate courses.

Established in 1995, the Institute for Tourism Studies, Macao (IFT) offers the most extensive selection of tourism and hospitality related bachelor degree programmes in Macao, and about twenty thousand participants attend its vocational and professional training courses annually. IFT collaborates with 106 universities and tourism organisations around the world, and builds strong links with 500 leading tourism and hospitality corporations to offer internship opportunities to its students.

Being the first institution accredited by the UNWTO.TedQual Certification System for tourism education, IFT has now 8 bachelor degree programmes with the Certification. Currently, the Institute has the most number of bachelor degree programmes certified under the System of any tertiary education establishment worldwide. In 2017, IFT became the world’s first higher education institution to pass International Quality Review (IQR) from the UK's Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA). IFT has been highly ranked by QS World University Rankings in the subject area of Hospitality and Leisure Management. In addition, IFT has received the Medal of Merit in Tourism from the Macao SAR Government, and twice won the Gold Award in ‘Education and Training’ from the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA).
