Inauguration of a Chinese calligraphy exhibition at IFT’s Team Building, showcasing works by local artist Ms. Ho Lai Sim and by students attending her short-term courses as offered by the Institute. The exhibition ran until the end of January 2019

The Secretary-General of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), Mr. Zurab Pololikashvili, visited the IFT Mong-Há Campus, meeting with the Institute’s management to discuss opportunities for further cooperation, including at postgraduate education level

The Institute held the “Forum – Regional Tourism Education Development and Mainland College Entrance Examination Reform”, to discuss the potential for regional tourism education cooperation, particularly within the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area

IFT held an Open Day, an event to offer high school graduates and their family members a chance to find out more about courses and student life at the Institute

IFT hosted the first edition of the “International Conference on Tourism and Retail Management (TRMC2018)”. The conference was jointly organised by IFT; the College of Hospitality, Retail and Sport Management at the University of South Carolina, in the United States; and the College of Tourism and Service Management at Nankai University in Tianjin

IFT was the venue for the “3rd Annual Conference of the International Place Branding Association (IPBA)”. The conference was jointly organised by: IFT; the College of Hospitality, Retail and Sport Management at the University of South Carolina, in the U.S.; and the School of Management at Swansea University in the United Kingdom

Award presentation ceremony held for the Macao Occupational Skills Recognition System (MORS) 2018 Gold Pin Competition

Inauguration of the new management bodies of the Student Union of IFT and the Union’s respective “sub-clubs”

IFT and the Royal University of Phnom Penh in Cambodia signed a cooperation agreement

5 March

IFT hosted Career Day 2019, an annual job fair to provide Year 4 bachelor degree programme students with information on employment trends in tourism and hospitality

Opening of an art exhibition featuring collage artwork by local artist Mr. Lai Sio Kit and by students attending his short courses as promoted by IFT. The showcase was at the Team Building and ran until 2 June

The IFT Chamber Music Club and the Culinary Arts Club combined to organise a weekend outdoor concert, coupled with an afternoon tea buffet

Inauguration of a Commemorative Photo Exhibition of the 100th Anniversary of the May Fourth Movement. The exhibition ran until 1 June and was organised by the Heritage Club and by the Mainland Student Union, both part of the Student Union of IFT

The 5th IFT Annual Culinary Competition offered participants a platform to showcase and enhance their culinary skills

IFT, the Estoril Higher Institute for Tourism and Hotel Studies, and Turismo de Portugal I.P. hosted an academic forum in Estoril, Portugal, regarding the impact on tourism and on education of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area initiative

IFT hosted the “4th Annual Tourism Education Student Summit 2019”, dedicated to recognising outstanding research produced by Year 4 students as part of their graduation thesis

IFT hosted the opening ceremony for the 2019 Tianjin Exchange Programme for Macao University Students, attended by Mr. Edmund Ho Hau Wah, Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference. The actual exchange took place from 8 to 23 June in Tianjin

Inauguration of “Splendid Quintessence – Chinese Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition” at the Educational Restaurant on IFT’s Mong-Há Campus. It ran until 21 July and was part of the Institute’s contribution to Art Macao, an international arts and culture initiative promoted by the Macao SAR Government

ShanghaiRanking Consultancy’s Global Ranking of Academic Subjects 2019 rated IFT as the 5th-best in Asia for hospitality and tourism management studies, and the 30th-best in the world in that field
