The regents and course coordinators at IFT make use of their extensive expertise to develop high-quality course curriculums and practicums. They are in charge of coordinating and monitoring teaching arrangements, in order to ensure students receive the best educational and study opportunities.

1. Hugo_Bandeira

HUGO BANDEIRA

COORDINATOR OF FOOD AND BEVERAGE COURSES
PORTUGAL

Mr. Bandeira is a graduate of IFT and a tutor approved by the Wine and Spirit Education Trust (WSET®) of Britain. He regularly serves as a judge in international wine competitions and was the Founding President of the Macanese Gastronomy Association.

2. Laurie Baker-Malungu-2

REGENT FOR THESIS/PROJECT
UNITED STATES

Dr. Baker-Malungu has for the last 3 decades served as an academic in higher education and as a curriculum consultant for educational associations throughout Asia (namely in Japan, the Taiwan region, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in Mainland China, and Macao). Dr. Baker-Malungu is in charge of overseeing the thesis/project graduation requirement for IFT’s daytime Bachelor of Science degree programmes. She is committed to creating educational experiences that give students knowledge and skills that can be translated into capacity recognised for its quality by experts in the relevant fields. Her research interests include e-learning, language acquisition, occupational development, curriculum design, cultural intelligence and occupational efficacy.

3. MIGUEL GASSMANN DE OLIVEIRA

MIGUEL GASSMANN DE OLIVEIRA

REGENT FOR RESTAURANT AND BAR COURSES
PORTUGAL

Mr. Gassmann de Oliveira teaches courses relating to restaurant and bar operations, including cost control and food preparation. Mr. Gassmann de Oliveira is an IFT graduate who worked in the hotel business in Macao for more than a decade before returning to teach at the Institute.

4. Oscar Ho

REGENT FOR OFF-CAMPUS PRACTICUM AND INTERNSHIP
MACAO

Mr. Ho coordinates the IFT curricular internship programme, putting to use his extensive experience of business development in Greater China. Mr. Ho also supervises schemes that give students experience of working under supervision in tourism and retailing.

5. Doris Ip

DORIS IP

REGENT FOR LANGUAGES
MACAO

Assistant Professor Ms. Ip Ka I, also known as Doris Ip, has been working for IFT since its establishment, specialising in language teaching. She teaches English courses and oversees English and other language courses. Ms. Ip’s research interests include curriculum design and language-learning motivation. She is a joint author of an English language course for taxi drivers.

6. WONG MAN SU

WONG MAN SU

REGENT FOR KITCHEN COURSES
MACAO

Chef Wong was trained in the preparation of Japanese food and added to his skills at Hotel Lisboa in the 1980s and early 1990s. He has also mastered other culinary forms, including Macanese cuisine and Western cuisine. Chef Wong has been at IFT since its establishment.

7. BENNY VU

BENNY VU

REGENT FOR RESTAURANT AND BAR COURSES
MACAO

Mr. Vu has been the Manager of the IFT Educational Restaurant since 1998 and assists in the supervision of undergraduate practicums at the restaurant. Prior to joining IFT, Mr. Vu held managerial positions in the hospitality sector in Macao. He is a trainer and assessor in the Macao Occupational Skills Recognition System.
