Eve Ren appointed Professor in Tourism Management, Coordinator for Postgraduate Programmes

IFTM academic Dr. Eve Ren Lianping has been appointed by the Institute to the full-time position of Professor in Tourism Management. Her appointment followed an open recruitment process which attracted candidates from around the world. The appointment commenced on 3 August,2020.

In addition, Dr. Ren has been also appointed as Coordinator for Postgraduate Programmes at IFTM starting September 1, 2020.

As Professor in Tourism Management, Dr. Ren is required to work to propel the development of IFTM in the fields of education, research and community service, with the ultimate aim of reinforcing the global status of the Institute as a leading provider of tourism education.

Before taking up the appointment of Professor in Tourism Management, Dr. Ren was an Assistant Professor at IFTM. She will retain her function as Academic Coordinator of the Tourism Retail and Marketing Management Bachelor Degree Programme, and will continue to oversee subjects in the field of business management until the end of 2020.

Dr. Ren holds a doctorate in hotel and tourism management, earned at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. She has taught and led programmes in institutions of higher education in Mainland China and Hong Kong.

Her research interests include tourist behaviour, hotel studies, strategic management, and hospitality education. She has published academic articles in multiple international top-tier journals and has contributed to textbooks on tourism and hospitality.

Earlier in her career Dr. Ren worked full-time in the tourism and hospitality industries.
