Macau enjoys one of the safest water supplies in the world, however, most of the places are now suffering from water shortage and actually many people at this moment do not have clean water to drink at all! We should all take the initiative to use water wisely as water resources is limited.

Check out the follow tips which we can actually do to save up more water:

  • Verify that your home is leak-free, because many homes have hidden water leaks
  • Avoid flushing the toilet unnecessarily
  • Don't use your toilet as a trash can. Each time you flush a cigarette butt, facial tissue or other small bit of trash you use up to 9 litres of clean water
  • Take showers rather than baths. By taking a bath you are using up to 100 litres of water! Showering will generally use less than a third of this amount
  • Never put water down the drain when there may be another use for it such as watering a plant, flush the toilet or cleaning
  • Don't let water run while shaving, brus or washing your face
  • When washing dishes by hand, fill one sink or basin with soapy water instead of running water
  • Do not use running water to thaw meat or other frozen foods. Defrost food overnight in the refrigerator or by using the defrost setting on your microwave
