IFTM has always been committed to promoting sustainable development. In the past ten years, environmental protection has been an indispensable part of education for the Institute. The Environmental Management System Committee (EMSC) will host the 10th IFTM Healthy & Green Month from September 6 to 30, 2021. Even in the face of environmental challenges brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic, the institute endeavors to introduce new measures and promotion plans on campus.
Due to the impact of the pandemic, all the activities this year will be “zero-contact”. At the same time, everyone's consumption and living habits have changed in response to the pandemic, we encourage everyone to keep on developing a healthy and low-carbon lifestyle. We are now inviting everyone to participate in the following eco-friendly activities and have a chance to win a free accommodation at Pousada de Mong-Há. To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Healthy and Green Month, 10 free accommodation at Pousada de Mong-Há will be given out as grand prizes.

Objective
In order to enhance the awareness of environment protection within IFTM, we plan to decorate the campus’ public areas with green promotional materials, thus, we would like to organise a graphic design competition for environmental protection promotion. The winning designs will be printed out and posted on the walls of the campus’ public areas.
Eligibility
All IFTM staff and students are eligible to join the competition as individual or group, including registered students of degree, diploma and certificate programmes, and registered students of short courses.
Content and Requirement of the Design
Mainly graphic and less wordings, also to bring out the concept to lessen CO2 emission, plastic consumption, reduce at source, save resources; such as less meat or even meatless diet, consume local product, plant more trees, reduce air-condition use by wearing suitable outfit, walk instead of drive, refuse disposable packaging, bring your own cutlery, “shop naked”, lessen the order of take away; 6R - Reduce, Rethink, Refuse, Repair, Reuse, Recycle #zerowaste #BYOB #BringYourOwn #ClimateChange #SavePlanet, etc
Usage
To be printed on approximately 1m x 1m sticker or poster and to be posted at the campus’ public areas.
File Format
Applicants are to submit JPEG file, file size should be resized to not exceeding 6MB. Original file (AI or PSD) must be CMYK, minimum 300 dpi and size at no less than 50cm x 50cm which must be submitted if the design is awarded.
Application Deadline and Method
All entries should be submitted via email to emscs@iftm.edu.mo on/before 30 June 2021 (extended) , the application email should include the below table, with information filled. There is no limit on the number of entries.

Selection Method
All entries will be first judged by IFTM panel members based on the artwork’s self-explanation of environment friendly concept, understandability, aesthetics and innovation of the design. Any design not matching IFTM’s requirements will not be judged. If the number of entries exceeds the number of awards, they will be shortlisted to online voting. They will be posted on IFTM My Green Campus Webpage https://www2.ift.edu.mo/greencampus/index.php/ on 1 July 2021. Staff, students, alumni and public will be invited to cast their votes online until 8 July 2021. The votes by staff, students, alumni and public will only cover 50% of the total mark; the rest of the 50% will be judged by IFTM panel members.
The IFTM panel members are:
- IFTM Environmental Management Representative
- Member of the IFTM Environmental Management System Committee
- Coordinator for Creative Studies and IT courses (School of Continuing Education)
Remarks: The selected panel members are not allowed to join this competition.
Awards
There are 10 awards for this event; based on each entry, the individual/group of each winning entry will receive a Complimentary Room Coupon of the IFTM Educational Hotel.
Terms and Conditions
- The design entry must be original work and has not been published before.
- If the individual or group is found to have plagiarised the design submission, the prize must be refunded, and the individual or group shall be responsible for all legal consequences.
- IFTM shall have the right to be the sole user of the awarded design entry and reserves the right to modify the entry as appropriate.
- IFTM shall have the right to decide whether to adopt the printing and use of the awarded artwork.
- The prize can only be used by the winner and his/her companion. The accommodation is non-transferrable and non-resalable.
Result Announcement
The result will be announced on 13 July 2021 by email to all IFTM staff and students, it will also be uploaded to IFTM My Green Campus Website. The award ceremony will be announced later.
