Goals and objectives
  • - to build up students' knowledge and experience on the Portuguese culture through the - lens of language and tourism;
  • - to introduce students in the basic structures of the Portuguese language;
  • - to educate students about the complexity of tourism as an expression of culture;
  • - to enlighten students with expressions of (in)tangible heritage from the Alentejo region;
  • - to develop students' interpersonal skills and team spirit through international exchange activities.

Who can apply

Participants must be current registered full-time undergraduate or post-graduate students of higher education institutions, regardless of country and region, with a good command of the English language.

18 - 25 years old

Fees

 Programme fee: EUR750.00 (to be settled individually by Visa / Mastercard)
 The above fee covers the following during the programme dates:

    1. Lectures, workshops, fieldwork activities and 3 study trips;
  1. 2. Twin-sharing bedroom accommodation in University’s Hall of Residence, with daily breakfast (for 13 days; check-in on 01 July, check-out on 14 July);
  2. 3. One group transfer from Lisbon Portela Airport to University’s Hall of Residence on 01 July (at times specified in agenda);
  3. 4. One group transfer from Hall of Residence to Lisbon Portela Airport on 14 July (time to be confirmed);
  4. 5. Group transportation regarding the study trips is included;
  5. 6. Meals per stated in the agenda;
  6. 7. Certificate of Attendance.


Other self-arrangements
(not covered by the programme fee)

  • Travelling to and from the destination city;
  • Travel insurance policy to and from the destination city and covering the programme period;
  • Entry visa (tourist visa), if necessary;
  • Entrance to museums and monuments;
  • Miscellaneous individual expenses.

Dress code

  • Comfortable clothes and footwear for high temperatures, Évora (Alentejo Region) can reach 40ºC.
  • Smart casual wear is good enough for most lectures, visits and excursions.
  • Sunscreen is recommended.
  • Revealing or obscene outfit must be avoided at all times.

Certificate

Participants will be awarded a Certificate of Attendance upon successful completion.
