Idea-cation @ IFTM 2021Marking the 26th anniversary of IFTM
To catalyse wider technology adoption in the digital economy era, the Idea-cation @ IFTM 2021 is launched to elicit novel technological solutions to address business challenges and opportunities arisen from the “Tourism+” initiative.
Idea-cation @ IFTM aims to seek innovative and viable solutions tailored for our industries (e.g. tourism, hospitality, F&B, MICE, retail). Through our three-day-two-night (3D2N) on-campus event, participants will be meeting new friends, pitching their innovative ideas, and having great fun while gaining new insights from industry/academic experts. Mentors will be assigned to individual teams for furnishing ideas and boosting teams’ competence level. Guest speakers will also be invited to share their insights on business innovation.

Dr. Fernando Lourenço Dr. Fernando Lourenço is an eclectic academic with interests in social science, art and design, entrepreneurship, education and sustainability. Mr. Joe LamMr. Joe Lam is a lecturer in Information Technology at IFTM. He is also an Alibaba Cloud Certified Professional Trainer in Cloud Computing. Dr. Simon Lei Dr. Simon Lei teaches Information Technology courses at IFTM. He has publications in ICT and smart tourism related areas. Dr. Soey LeiDr. Soey Lei’s research interests focus on the impact of technology innovations on consumer behaviour. She is currently working on a number of projects related to AI, mobile communication, and smart tourism. Dr. Sonny SuDr. Sonny Su has more than 10 years of teaching experience in higher education institutions. His main areas of research lie in smart traffic, smart city, systems engineering, digital image processing, and big data processing and applications. Dr. Vicky ChenDr. Vicky Chen is from cultural heritage related educational and research background. Her research interests include cultural tourism, smart tourism and smart city development.
