Idea-cation @ IFTM 2022
Idea-cation @ IFTM aims to seek innovative and viable solutions tailored for our industries (e.g. tourism, hospitality, F&B, MICE, retail). Following last year’s success, this second edition calls for innovative recovery strategies amidst adversity which can help Macao’s local retail brands to transform or seize new opportunities. Through the hybrid mode event, participants will be meeting new friends, pitching their innovative ideas, and having great fun while gaining new insights from our industry/academic experts.
Finalist teams will participate in the 3-day programme on 11-13 November 2022 which is supported by 8 local brands in the categories of jewellery, skincare & aromatherapy, fashion apparel, and cultural & creative products respectively. Judges (representatives from the supporting brands and IFTM) will evaluate finalists teams' pitching performance and final proposals to determine the outstanding teams.

Pitching (Expected Output)
Finalist teams are expected to participate fully in this idea-cation to flesh out their initial proposal into a more concrete plan.
Finalist teams will then pitch their ideas on the last day by live streaming.
Judges will evaluate both the pitching performance and the content of the final business proposal to determine the Champion, 1st Runner-up and 2nd Runner-up.

Speaker: Mr. Mann Lao (Founder / Creative Director of CHIII Design)

Topic: Marketing, Branding and Design
CHIII Design was founded in 2013 and established the Shanghai team in 2019. Mann believes to integrate the commercial elements with visual arts and culture, and to foster creativity and utilize design for economic and social development. He always participate to different international design award events as jury and promoting Macau designs to all around the world, including the United States, United Kingdom, Japan, Taiwan, Macau and China, with over 30 different markets. Being one of the China-based pioneer design teams enter into Japanese market, CHIII Design is a professional and experienced project team which takes commercial and branding design to the next level.

Mr. Grant Lou Kam Fai founded SO-Idea Convention & Exhibition Consulting Company in 2008. Over the years, the company has successfully held various types of exhibitions and events for local and overseas enterprises, providing countless business opportunities and helping promote the internationalization for Macao's MICE industry. As a vice-director of the executive board of Macau Federal Commercial Association of Convention and Exhibition Industry and a director of Macao Convention and Exhibition Association, Grant is committed to promoting the development of Macao's convention and exhibition services. In recent years, in response to the local and national policies, Grant has been continuously involving in the promotion of the cooperation among Macao and other cities in the Greater Bay Area. It helps local entrepreneurs expand their market to the GBA and other markets on the mainland, and thus serves the role for linking the business opportunities for both sides. In 2020, the 1st Wui Ou Quality Life Expo was held in Jiangmen, which has become the first ever successful example of Macao's SME stepping into the GBA under self-financing. Through a series of business matching and site visits, several domestic and foreign enterprises reached an intention for cooperation. Under the leadership of Grant, the company will continue to explore new opportunities for Macao's enterprises to the GBA, as well as for active participation in the Belt and Road Initiative and the development of the Greater Bay Area. He strives to formulate proposals and make contributions to the future development of the cities in the region.
